Congratulations! You are taking the next steps into Scouting. Explorers are a district-held unit who meet on a weekly basis and prepare young people with the skills that will help them prepare for life.
Aged between fourteen and eighteen, Explorers have the opportunity to get involved with life-changing experiences both at home and abroad.
This stage of Scouting marks an exceptionally thrilling period for young people, allowing them to apply their acquired knowledge as they advance through the Scouting programme. For newcomers to the Scouts, ample friendly support is on hand to help new recruits grasp new skills and meet the forthcoming challenges. Whether that's getting involved with water sports, deep sea fishing, marksmanship, mountaineering or caving, the Scouts are in safe hands with highly experienced leadership teams throughout the district. At the heart of Explorer Scouts is the belief that young people really get a say in what activities will happen.
In Halesowen District, we are lucky enough to be able to offer our explorers a selection of Units; the Air Explorer Unit concentrates on aviation while delivering the Scouting programme, the Warriors Unit deliver the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and the Pioneers Unit is our Young Leader Unit who help with other sections such as Squirrel, Beaver, Cubs and Scouts.
For more information, check out the Halesowen District Explorers page.
While your tenure with Stambermill St. Mark's Scout Group may have concluded, it doesn't mean your involvement has to end. Our organisation welcomes the chance to offer young leaders opportunities and training so you can play a vital role in providing life-changing experiences to others.
